Dog Parks in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs offers both fenced dog parks and three unfenced dog runs where voice control is legal, something few Front Range cities allow.

Bear Creek Dog Park is the regional heavyweight: 25 fenced acres run by El Paso County on the north side of Bear Creek Regional Park, with a separate two-acre area for small and senior dogs and creek access. County rules there and at Fox Run north of the city require dogs to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed and over four months; Fox Run's small-dog area is for dogs of 25 pounds or less. The city's four fenced parks are Palmer Park's old baseball field, Rampart Park in Briargate, Cheyenne Meadows on the south side and the Antlers Park downtown dog park, finished in late 2024.

The unfenced dog runs are what set this city apart. Garden of the Gods has one in the grassland east of Rock Ledge Ranch, Red Rock Canyon designates its Upper and Lower Dog Loops, and Palmer Park adds Yucca Flats.

City code requires a leash in every park and on every trail otherwise, and the city says dogs using its facilities must be inoculated, licensed and not in breeding condition. Licenses come from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, $20 a year for an altered dog.
