Most people do not realize Garden of the Gods has an off-leash area at all, because it is well away from the famous rock formations. The city designates a dog run in the open grassland east of Rock Ledge Ranch and south of Gateway Road, near the park's east entrance by the visitor center. Like the city's other dog runs it is unfenced, so it only works for dogs with reliable recall, and the city publishes a dog map and policies PDF for the park. On every other trail in the Garden, including the central garden paths, dogs must be leashed. Check the city's dog map for the exact boundary before letting your dog loose.
