Privacy Policy

What Colorado Outdoor Dogs collects, where it goes and how to have it removed. Last updated October 2026.

Who we are

Colorado Outdoor Dogs (coloradooutdoordogs.com) is an independent guide and directory covering dog-friendly places and pet-care providers in Colorado. We are not a kennel, daycare, groomer, trainer or veterinary practice. This policy covers this website only; businesses and providers you contact through it have their own policies.

What we collect

Forms

Our contact, free-quote and listing forms ask for your name, email address, the city you are in and details you choose to share about your dog or your business. Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a script; Turnstile may process your IP address and browser signals for that purpose under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Submissions are delivered to us by email through Cloudflare's email delivery service.

If you request free quotes, we forward your request, including your contact details and the dog information you entered, to independent local providers in the service and city you selected so they can reply to you directly. Those providers are separate businesses and handle your information under their own policies. If you ask for a correction or submit a business listing, the information stays with us and is used only to act on your request.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people reach them. GA4 sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device type and referring site. We have IP anonymization enabled where Google offers it and do not use analytics data to identify individuals. You can block analytics with a browser extension or by disabling cookies.

Maps

Listing and city pages include maps built with the Leaflet library, loaded from the unpkg content delivery network, with map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Map tiles load only when the map scrolls into view. When they load, your browser requests tiles from OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your IP address and the tile coordinates under the OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy. Loading Leaflet from unpkg sends a standard request to that CDN.

Server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard, short-lived request logs for security and performance.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
  • We do not run advertising networks or third-party ad trackers. Sponsored listings on this site are placements we sell directly, and they do not track you.
  • We do not use your dog's details for anything other than the request you made.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are kept in our email for as long as needed to handle the request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up, after which they are deleted. Analytics data is retained according to the GA4 retention setting, currently 14 months.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete any information you have submitted through this site. Use the contact form and choose "Not sure yet" so it reaches us rather than a provider. We will confirm once it is done. If you requested quotes and want a provider to delete your details, you may need to ask that provider as well; tell us and we will pass the request along.

Residents of Colorado have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act, and residents of other states and regions may have similar rights, to access, correct and delete personal data and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal data. Requests can be made through the contact form.

Links to other sites

Listings link to business websites, agency rules pages and booking platforms. Those sites are not controlled by us and have their own policies.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Substantive changes to how form data is handled will be noted on the forms themselves.
