Red Rock Canyon Open Space, just south of Highway 24 on the west side, is popular for its sandstone fins and climbing, but the city also designates two unfenced off-leash areas here: the Upper and Lower Dog Loops, on the trail system south of the main parking lot. Everywhere else in the open space dogs must be leashed, and the city lists the loops as dog runs where dogs may be off leash only while under voice control. Two parking lots sit on the right side of West High Street, with portable toilets at both. Pack out waste to the trailhead cans; the city notes it harms wildlife and pollutes the creek.
