Dog Boarding in Golden
Golden offers a modern camp-style kennel on the east side and a long-running country kennel to the north.
Camp Bow Wow Golden is in a business park off West 43rd Drive near the Highway 58 and McIntyre interchange. Dogs that pass the required interview spend days in climate-controlled group yards, sleep in individual cabins, and show up on live webcams for their owners. The listing is tagged cage-free and PACFA licensed.
Sage Valley Pet Center is the other kind of kennel: a boarding and grooming operation on West 54th Avenue in the open country between Highway 93 and Fairmount, boarding dogs and cats since 1996 according to directory listings. It appears on the Colorado Department of Agriculture's facility list, and you call for requirements and current rates rather than booking online.
Rover Retreat on West Colfax, listed under daycare, also offers overnight boarding. Whichever you choose, bring proof of rabies, DHPP and Bordetella, and expect questions about canine influenza; Golden's own license requirement through Foothills Animal Shelter applies to resident dogs regardless.
