Sapphire Point is a half-mile loop to two overlooks above Dillon Reservoir with the Tenmile and Gore ranges across the water, and it is the easiest high-country view you can give a dog: wide compacted path, a few benches, and almost no climbing at 9,500 feet. It is also the most-reserved wedding spot in the ranger district, so weekend afternoons in summer can mean a ceremony at the overlook. Dogs are welcome under Summit County's control-or-leash rule; the parking lot is the real constraint. A good acclimatization walk on arrival day before the bigger Summit County hikes.
