Spring Canyon is the community park at the far west end of Horsetooth Road, up against the foothills, and the city's park page invites visitors to let their pooch roam the dog park. The off-leash area is enclosed by a wooden fence and has its own parking lot off Horsetooth Road next to the playground. All city parks are open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., and the city's park rules say dogs may be off leash only inside fenced, signed dog park areas, with owners responsible for waste. The surrounding park has a playground and a seasonal splash pad that runs 9 to 7 from roughly Memorial Day to Labor Day.
