Valmont is Boulder's biggest fenced dog park, part of Valmont City Park on the north side of Valmont Road east of Foothills Parkway. The city describes a large-dog area of about three acres and a small-dog area of roughly a quarter acre, with a seasonal water spigot. It shares the park with the 42-acre Valmont Bike Park, a pump track, skate park, disc golf course, picnic area and natural lands, so it is easy to pair a dog session with the kids' bike time. Free and open dawn to dusk. City ordinances are enforced, leashes are required outside the fence, and the city occasionally closes areas during park construction, so check the dog parks page before a special trip.
