Main Avenue holds most of Durango's dog patios, two confirmed and the rest reported, with one ranch grill up the valley.
11th Street Station, the food-truck collective built around Ernie's Bar in a former service station at 11th and Main, publishes a dog-friendly page: well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome and water bowls are provided, in what it calls the largest dog-friendly patio in Durango. With several trucks to choose from, it suits a group that cannot agree. Grassburger's downtown shop on Main states plainly that it has a pet-friendly patio; note the stairs there, since the South Durango location is the step-free one.
Three more are reported by dog-travel listings but not confirmed by the business: Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen and El Moro Spirits & Tavern, both on Main Avenue with sidewalk seating, and James Ranch Grill, the outdoor burger-and-cheese grill at the working ranch ten miles north on Highway 550, where seating is all picnic tables. Call ahead for each.
Durango's Sec. 4-41 leash law, six feet maximum, applies on every downtown sidewalk and the Animas River Trail. Durango Transit does not carry pets, so arrive on foot or by car.

No. Durango Transit allows service animals only; pets are on its prohibited-items list. Downtown Durango is walkable, and the Animas River Trail connects much of town, but dogs must be on a leash of six feet or less throughout.
It is reported dog-friendly at its outdoor picnic tables, which is all the seating there is, but the ranch has not published a policy, so our listing is unconfirmed. It is about ten miles north of Durango on Highway 550 and opens Wednesday through Sunday.
