Beaver Brook is the Front Range's old-school ridge trail: nine miles one way from Windy Saddle to Genesee Park along the south rim of Clear Creek Canyon, with rock scrambles, cliff-edge sections and limited markers. Most dog hikers do the first two or three miles from Windy Saddle and turn around at the first big drainage. It is hiker-only, shaded in long stretches, and far quieter than Lookout Mountain Road suggests. Leashes are required on both the Jeffco and Denver segments. Not a trail for dogs that bolt or for anyone nervous about exposure; excellent for steady, trail-wise dogs. No cell coverage in the canyon.
