Dog Parks in Littleton

Littleton offers two fenced neighborhood bark parks and one big state-park run, each with its own rulebook.

South Suburban Parks and Recreation runs Littleton's two fenced parks, and the district is clear that dogs may be off leash only inside them. Wynetka Ponds Bark Park on South Lowell near Bowles has two fenced grassy areas; the small-dog enclosure is for dogs under 25 pounds. The Bark Park at David A. Lorenz Regional Park on East County Line Road is a two-acre enclosure split for smaller and larger dogs. At both, dogs must be licensed and vaccinated, puppies under four months and dogs in season are out, and there is a three-dog limit per person.

Chatfield State Park's Dog Off-Leash Area is the big one, roughly 70 acres by third-party accounts, with two ponds for swimming. Colorado Parks and Wildlife requires a Dog Off-Leash Pass, $3 daily or $25 annually for a handler and up to three dogs, on top of vehicle entry, and leashes no longer than six feet everywhere else in the park.

Littleton itself does not license dogs, but a current rabies tag on the collar is mandatory.

Questions about dog parks in Littleton

What does Chatfield's off-leash area cost?

A Dog Off-Leash Pass costs $3 per day or $25 per year and covers one handler with up to three dogs. It is required in addition to the state park's vehicle entry fee. Outside the designated area, Colorado Parks and Wildlife requires a leash no longer than six feet.

Do I need a dog license for Littleton's bark parks?

South Suburban's rules say dogs using Wynetka Ponds and the Lorenz Bark Park must be licensed and vaccinated. The City of Littleton does not issue dog licenses, so residents typically rely on their county or home-city license; a current rabies tag on the collar is required regardless.

Which Littleton dog park has a small-dog area?

Both South Suburban parks do. Wynetka Ponds Bark Park's small-dog enclosure is for dogs under 25 pounds, and the Lorenz Regional Park Bark Park has separate areas for smaller and larger dogs. Chatfield's off-leash area is open terrain with no size separation.
