- off-leash area
- fenced
Aurora pairs three fenced city dog parks with the biggest off-leash area in the metro, which happens to be a state park with its own pass.
Grandview Dog Park on East Quincy Avenue is the city's largest, 5.7 fenced acres beside Quincy Reservoir. Bicentennial Park in central Aurora tucks a roughly one-acre fenced off-leash area into the northeast corner of its 35 acres, and Singletree Park serves the neighbourhoods north of I-70 near the airport with a fenced area alongside the playground and shelter. All three are city parks, and the rule everywhere else in Aurora's parks and on its trails is a leash of ten feet or less.
Then there is Cherry Creek State Park. Its dog off-leash area, more than 100 acres of fields, trails and creek access where dogs can swim, is run by Colorado Parks and Wildlife, not the city. You need a Dog Off-Leash Pass, $3 daily or $25 annual, covering one handler and up to three dogs, in addition to the park entry fee, and outside the designated area CPW's six-foot leash rule applies. Expect coyotes and rattlesnakes in season. CPW lists the area closed October 26 to 30, 2026 for maintenance.
Aurora requires a license for dogs over six months, $15 a year for an altered dog, and caps households at four dogs.

A Dog Off-Leash Pass is $3 a day or $25 a year and covers one handler and up to three dogs. You also need a park entry pass for your vehicle. Outside the fenced off-leash area, Colorado Parks and Wildlife's six-foot leash rule applies throughout the park.
Cherry Creek State Park's dog off-leash area, which Visit Aurora puts at more than 100 acres with trails and creek access, is the largest, though it requires a state pass. Among city parks, Grandview Dog Park on East Quincy Avenue is the biggest at 5.7 acres.
Yes, at Cherry Creek State Park's off-leash area, which includes creek access where dogs swim. The city's three fenced parks, Grandview, Bicentennial and Singletree, do not list water access. Grandview sits beside Quincy Reservoir, but the reservoir itself is not part of the dog park.
