Golden Gate Canyon State Park spreads over the foothills northwest of Golden, about 30 minutes up Golden Gate Canyon Road, with 117 campsites split between Reverend's Ridge, which has electric sites, showers, and year-round access, and the tent-oriented Aspen Meadows, which closes for winter. Colorado Parks and Wildlife's rules keep dogs on a six-foot leash at all times in campgrounds, picnic areas, and on designated trails, never left unattended. If you want a roof, cabins 1, 3, 4, and 5 and yurt 1 take pets for a $10 nightly fee, while cabin 2 and yurt 2 are pet-free. Campsites run $28 to $36 plus a park pass, and reservations go through CPW.
