Miller Creek is a 12-site Forest Service campground where Miller Creek meets Lemon Reservoir, about 16 miles northeast of Durango via Florida Road and County Road 243. Sites are $30 a night with an eight-person limit and are reserved through recreation.gov. Dogs must be leashed or otherwise physically restrained and cannot be left unattended at the site. The reservoir is a quieter alternative to Vallecito for fishing and paddling, and the campground's small size keeps it low-key. The Forest Service page showed the site closed for the season when we checked, so confirm opening dates in spring.
