Fort Collins' two listed stays are Old Town hotels with nearly identical dog policies and very different personalities.
The Elizabeth Hotel on Chestnut Street, the music-themed Autograph Collection property a block from Old Town Square, keeps its pet page to one line: up to two dogs of 100 pounds or less can stay in a pet-friendly room for a $75 fee. The Armstrong Hotel on South College, the boutique hotel at the south end of Old Town with Ace Gillett's lounge in the basement, is more detailed: up to two dogs per bedroom, none over 100 pounds, in a limited number of dog-friendly rooms for a $75 charge per stay, and dogs may not be left unattended in rooms. Book early at either, since the dog-friendly room count is limited.
Both hotels put you within a short leashed walk of the River District breweries and Ginger and Baker's North Patio with its dog menu. Equinox Brewing is steps from The Elizabeth but does not post a dog policy, so call ahead.
Fort Collins city code requires a leash everywhere except the four fenced dog parks, including Old Town Square and the Poudre River Trail. If you plan to hike Horsetooth, Larimer County requires leashes at all times and an entrance permit.

Both cap dogs at 100 pounds and allow up to two per room, for a $75 fee at each. The Armstrong limits dogs to a set number of dog-friendly rooms and does not allow them to be left unattended. Confirm availability of a pet room when booking, since they are limited.
The Poudre River Trail and the River District along Linden Street are a short leashed walk away, with Odell, New Belgium and Ginger and Baker's dog-friendly North Patio en route. Fort Collins requires leashes everywhere except its four fenced dog parks.
Only in a fully contained and secured pet carrier, which is Transfort's rule for all pets; service animals are the exception. For a dog too big for a carrier, plan on walking or driving from either hotel.
