- pet fee
Cabins, lodges and hotels in eight Colorado cities that take dogs, with the pet fee, the dog limit and the house rules pulled from each property's own policy so you can compare before you book.

AI illustration, not a specific place.
There is no state rule on pets in lodging, so every cabin, hotel and short-term rental sets its own terms, and dog-friendly hides a lot of variation. Four things decide whether a place works for you; our cards pull each from the property's own published pet policy.
The fee. Some charge once per stay, some per night, some per dog. The Maven Hotel in Denver charges a one-time $50 per dog; the Golden Hotel $35 per night per room; the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs $100 per pet per night; Colorado Bear Creek Cabins in Evergreen a non-refundable $50 per unit per stay. Over a week the difference runs to hundreds of dollars.
The limits. Two dogs per room is the usual cap. Weight limits exist (the Golden Hotel stops at 65 pounds) and some properties take dogs only in specific rooms.
The house rules. The one that catches people out is "may not be left alone in the room", which Basecamp Boulder states plainly. If you plan a dog-free dinner or ski day, that means a day of daycare.
What is outside the door. Listings rarely say whether the yard is fenced or the hot tub private; ask the host, and see our guide to cabins with hot tubs. In Breckenridge and Summit County, dogs must be leashed inside town limits and on the rec path, while unincorporated county land allows voice control within 10 feet; Cucumber Gulch Preserve is closed to dogs. In Durango, city trails are leash-only and Lake Nighthorse bars dogs from the swim beach, but the San Juan National Forest allows voice control. See the Breckenridge guide and rentals by town.
Only cities with listings appear here. Each city page has a map, filters and the policy for every place.

Every card states its dog policy and whether a primary source confirmed it; unconfirmed listings say "call ahead". Businesses marked "Featured" pay a fee for placement. Payment does not affect what a listing says about its dog policy, and we do not rank Featured listings by quality. Add or correct a listing.
Camping instead? See dog-friendly campgrounds. Need someone to watch the dog for a day? Six Front Range cities have free boarding quotes.
Extra cleaning, and sometimes a dog bed and bowls set up in advance, as the Maven in Denver does when you notify them. It does not cover damage, which is billed separately under the normal damage terms. Check whether the fee is per stay, per night or per dog, and whether it is refundable; the properties above show all four structures.
Only if the property allows it, and several do not: Basecamp Boulder, for example, states that dogs may not be left alone in rooms. Where it is allowed, a crate is often required. Summit County, Evergreen, Golden and the Front Range cities all have daycares listed on this site, and the mountain ones are used to ski-day drop-offs.
Some. A 65-pound cap (the Golden Hotel) and a two-dog maximum are typical where limits exist. Breed restrictions are uncommon in the properties we list but do appear, and individual short-term-rental hosts can set any limit they like. The Aurora and Denver breed bans were repealed by voters, so there is no city-level restriction on which dogs may stay with you.
Not inside town. Breckenridge requires leashes within town limits and on the rec path; Durango requires them on all city trails and in town. Outside those limits, unincorporated Summit County allows voice control within 10 feet and the San Juan National Forest around Durango allows voice control on most trails. Check which side of the line your rental sits on.
