Van Bibber Park is an in-town Jeffco open space along a creek and wetland on Arvada's west side, with a crusher-fines trail that follows the water 4.5 miles from Ward Road toward the foothills. An observation deck overlooks the marsh, and the willows give more shade than most prairie trails. It is a leash park (county rules, 10-foot maximum) and a good one for reactive dogs because the trail is wide and sightlines are long. Bears occasionally wander down the creek corridor, and Jeffco posts bear advice here. A new bridge-and-trail extension to the Fairmount Trail is under construction through 2027, so expect detours.
