Chief Hosa is a Denver Mountain Parks campground in Genesee Park at I-70 exit 253, about five minutes north of Evergreen, with 45 sites split between RV sites with water and power and walk-in tent sites in a ponderosa pine stand. Denver's page allows pets on a six-foot leash, kept under control and never left alone, with prompt cleanup. Tent sites are $23 and RV sites run $32.50 to $40 plus tax, showers are coin-operated, and reservations are required and open each February, with same-day booking available online until 8 p.m. The Genesee bison herd is often visible from nearby overlooks, and Evergreen's lake, trails, and restaurants are a short drive down Highway 74.
