Choosing a groomer in Boulder
Mobile is the main full-groom option. Zoomin Groomin’s East Boulder franchise sends a self-contained van to your driveway and lists Boulder, Eldorado Springs, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Erie, Niwot, Longmont and Mead as its service area. Dogs and cats are groomed one at a time with no cages, which the company pitches for anxious, older and multi-pet households. Expect to pay more than a storefront and to book a week or more out.
Daycare salons on the east side. Camp Bow Wow Boulder on Pearl Street east of Foothills Parkway offers baths, de-shed baths, a nail-and-ears package, tidy trims and exit baths timed for pickup, all PACFA licensed and booked alongside a day-camp or boarding reservation. Bowhaus in Gunbarrel, on Odell Place, lists grooming beside daycare and boarding, promotes a first-groom discount, and requires vaccination records from a licensed vet at least 48 hours before any visit plus spay or neuter for dogs over twelve months.
Match the service to the coat. For a breed-specific haircut or a doodle that has not seen a comb in two months, ask the mobile groomer or a salon in Louisville or Longmont; for the weekly post-Chautauqua mud and cheatgrass, a facility bath or de-shed is enough. Dogs with Voice and Sight tags that run OSMP trails pick up burrs and awns from late spring through October, so ask for a full-body check with every groom.
Boulder specifics. The city requires a licence before you can buy a Voice and Sight tag, and facility salons will usually ask for rabies proof at minimum. Parking is tight at the east-Boulder business parks around lunchtime; mobile avoids the problem entirely.
