Dog Daycare in Boulder — Free Quotes from Local Daycares

Boulder daycare runs from a small-group boutique on Arapahoe to a Gunbarrel facility with a separate room for tiny dogs. Describe your dog and your week once, and independent local daycares reply with their own rates and rules.

Free, no obligation. We pass your request to independent local providers who reply directly.

Boulder daycares, one request

Small groups or big yards, half days or memberships: the three Boulder formats are different enough that asking all of them saves a wasted trial day.

  • Free. No cost to request; you pay the daycare for days you use.
  • Independent Boulder businesses. A locally owned boutique, a 20-year family operation and a franchise camp, all inside the city.
  • PACFA tag verified. Colorado licenses daycare under its boarding/training category; we confirm each licence with the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

Trial days and house rules

Updog schedules a trial day by phone or email before the first visit, and runs set drop-off windows rather than open-door hours. Bowhaus needs vaccination records from a licensed vet two days before any visit and requires dogs over 12 months to be spayed or neutered. Camp Bow Wow Boulder interviews every new camper. Boulder daycares are stricter than most on intact dogs, so say your dog's status on the form.

Vaccines

Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella are the minimum; canine influenza and leptospirosis are commonly requested for all-day group play, and the July 2025 PACFA rule update means licensed facilities now hold vaccination records before dogs mix. Give the flu series three to four weeks to complete before a trial day.

Choosing a daycare in Boulder

Where they are, and why Boulder dogs use daycare differently.

Three formats on the east side

Updog on Arapahoe Avenue east of Foothills Parkway calls itself a boutique daycare: small groups, a small locally owned team, indoor and outdoor yards for bad-weather days and daily pictures for owners. Bowhaus in Gunbarrel on Odell Place groups dogs by size with a separate "Tiny Town" for small breeds, streams its Boulder playrooms through the customer portal and sells half days up to five hours. Camp Bow Wow Boulder on Pearl Street east of 30th, by Boulder Junction, runs all-day play in indoor and outdoor yards with live cams, a puppy programme and enrichment sessions for dogs that need more than a group.

The trail dog's weekday problem

Boulder is the one Front Range city where a tagged dog can run off-leash on about 90 miles of OSMP trail under the Voice and Sight programme. The catch is that the dog that hikes Sanitas on Saturday still needs an outlet on Tuesday. That is the typical Boulder daycare customer, and it is why group size and yard space matter more here than webcams. Updog's small groups suit a dog that is fit but not a party animal; Camp Bow Wow suits one that is both.

Licence first, then the green tag

Every dog living in Boulder needs a city licence ($15 altered, $30 intact a year, via DocuPet), and you must hold it before buying a Voice and Sight tag. Boulder Revised Code 6-1-16 keeps dogs leashed elsewhere, including the approach to the three fenced dog parks. A daycare will not ask for either, but a rabies certificate is required for both the licence and the daycare, so get it from the vet in one go.

Semester rhythm

Demand here tracks the university and the tech employers: weekday memberships fill in late August and January when semesters start, and loosen over the CU breaks when half the city travels and boarding takes over. If you want a fixed two- or three-day weekly slot, ask in the quieter weeks before a semester rather than the first week of classes.

Addresses, hours and confirmed policies for each daycare are in the Boulder dog daycare directory. The Boulder city hub explains the Voice and Sight programme, licensing and the city's dog parks.

Which Boulder daycares have webcams?
