What Dog Boarding Costs in Denver
Denver kennel prices are published on most facility websites, which makes this one of the easier questions to answer honestly. The figures below are published prices as of October 2026, collected from Front Range facilities' own pricing pages. They are typical ranges, not quotes; every business sets its own rates and changes them.
The headline numbers
| Type of stay | Published price, Oct 2026 | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard kennel or cabin, per night | $55–$65 | Often includes a full day of group play |
| Luxury suite, per night | $80–$87 | Bigger room, sometimes a bed or TV; same play day |
| In-home sitter (app-based), per night | $42–$95 | Rover Denver roughly $50–$95 including its 11% fee; Wag roughly $42–$68 |
| Holiday or peak surcharge | $5–$6 per dog per night | Applies the night before, of and after a holiday at most facilities |

Some specific published rates, so you can see how the range forms:
- Camp Bow Wow Denver Central: $63 a night for one dog, $121 for two sharing, $174 for three; $61 a night on stays of eight nights or more; daycare included; enrichment add-ons $15 per 15 minutes.
- All Dogs Unleashed Denver: $58 standard, $80 luxury suite.
- Dogtopia Denver Tech Center: $87 a night for dogs not enrolled in daycare, which includes the day of play; enrolled dogs pay $30 plus their plan's day rate; suites are $25 more.
- Sniff Shack Denver: $65 a night, or $55 with a 14-night package.
- Barkly Manor lists private suites from $60 a night with cage-free day play.
What drives the price
Whether daycare is bundled
The single biggest difference between a $58 night and an $87 night is usually whether all-day group play is included or billed separately. A facility that runs dogs in play groups all day needs more staff per dog than one that does scheduled potty breaks and a walk, and the price reflects it. If your dog does not want to play with twenty strangers, a quieter kennel with individual time may be both cheaper and better.
Room size and extras
Suites cost $20 to $25 more per night at the facilities above. What you get varies: a larger run, a raised bed, a webcam, a window. Add-ons such as one-on-one play, extra walks, a bath before pickup or administering medication are usually priced per item.
Multi-dog and length-of-stay discounts
Two dogs sharing one cabin rarely costs double; Camp Bow Wow's published rate for two is $121 against $63 for one. Stays of a week or more often drop a few dollars a night, and packages bought in advance (Sniff Shack's 14-night bundle, for instance) drop more, with the catch that daycare and boarding packages are typically non-refundable and expire in six to twelve months.
Staffing overnight
Some facilities staff the building around the clock; Doggie Pause advertises 24/7 staffing and private sleeping spaces. Others lock up at night with cameras running. Both are common; ask, and decide what you are comfortable with.
Licensing and compliance
Colorado requires most boarding businesses to hold a Boarding/Training Facility license under the Pet Animal Care and Facilities Act (PACFA), administered by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. The 2026 fee is $500 a year, licenses expire March 1, and the 2025 rule update added recordkeeping duties for vaccination before dogs commingle. That is a real cost of doing business and part of why a licensed facility with an inspection history charges more than a neighbour with a spare room.
Holidays are a different market. Expect a $5 to $6 per-dog, per-night surcharge around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year, and at some camps on every summer holiday weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Holiday stays often carry a non-refundable deposit and a minimum number of nights, and Denver facilities fill weeks ahead for the late-December ski window. Book before the leaves turn.
Deposits, cancellations and the fine print
The published norms on the Front Range look like this: a deposit of 50 percent of the stay (or one night) at booking, refundable if you cancel at least five days out, forfeited for a no-show or a cancellation inside 48 hours. Holiday deposits are frequently non-refundable. Most facilities also require:
- An interview or trial day before the first stay, usually free, sometimes a paid "first day" package. Camp Bow Wow requires one; Barkly Manor runs daycare evaluations on weekday mornings.
- Current vaccination records on file before arrival, typically rabies, DHPP and Bordetella, often canine influenza and leptospirosis as well. See which vaccines Colorado kennels require.
- Spay or neuter for dogs in group play past a certain age, at many facilities.
How to compare quotes
When you request free boarding quotes in Denver, providers reply with their own prices and policies. Compare them on the same basis: nightly rate with daycare included or not, surcharge dates, deposit terms, what counts as a late pickup, and whether medication is extra. Ask to see the PACFA license or look the business up on the Department of Agriculture's Active Facility List. Then visit. A facility that will not show you where your dog sleeps is telling you something.
Before drop-off, a long walk makes the first night easier. The Mile High Loop at City Park, a stretch of the High Line Canal or an hour in the Cherry Creek off-leash area will do it. Browse every kennel we list under dog boarding in Denver, or read the statewide picture on the dog boarding hub.
